“We enjoyed our stay. The double bed was a bit small for my husband and I but I guess we are not as slim as we used to be . Close to soldier club for dinner ”

“The room was freshly decorated, and beautifully clean. The efficient air conditioning was vital as a heat wave moved through the region. The bathroom was spacious and well-appointed. The balcony was delightful and the view from the room across to several historic buildings was picturesque. I would happily stay there again. PS The Rose Cafe was very conveniently located and the food choices were excellent.”

“This is a good option on limited funds. The bed was pretty good. The water was hot. The room had all the usual supplies such a tea, coffee etc. The staff were friendly and quickly provided me with a hand towel that we needed. Only two issues, the shower floor tiles were a slippery type, which is dangerous, and the floor of the room could have used a mop. ”

“Convenient and easy overnight stop for a good nights sleep. Close to motorway and easy after hours access. Would highly recommend! We chose accomodation with breakfast which you don’t really need as McDonald’s and bakery is very close by for other options. ”

“$*** for a small, single room. Yes, the hotel is very well located, at one end of the main street and the bar and bistro are quite good. The room? Well, it could be described as tired or shabby but I would call it severely neglected. I suspect many people would be put off by the peeling paint, missing drawer front, cracked walls and missing light fixtures. On a positive note, the room was fairly clean, the hot water was good, the air-conditioner, while noisy, did actually work and the bed was adequately comfortable. The photos online are a little misleading. I suspect the last time this room (number ***) had any renovation attention was somewhere in the late 1980s. Since then a lick of paint was not holding up in covering damp problems in the bathroom walls. I can honestly say, it was the saddest hotel room I have ever stayed in anywhere in Australia. Such a pity when the rest of the place is so good.However, if you are on a budget and you want a convenient location, then you get what you pay for. My suggestion would be when checking in at this hotel, asked to see the Room first.”

“Room as described. Very basic. Windows face the street. No bedside lamp, no lift. Shared bathroom and toilets, facilities for both men and women. Kitchen facilities with a communal fridge, toaster, kettle and microwave. Air conditioner in each room and a TV. ”
