The Chainbridge Hotel

Fantastic location overlooking the River Dee but the hotel is in need of investment and a total refurbishment. Poor menu, shocking wine list, unable to charge to our room and a local EHO rating of one out of five which is beyond shocking.

Very nicely located on the riverside. Staff are friendly. Rooms are clean, breakfast is simple but be made mindful of 2 things that caught us by surprise, the network is very poor especially on the 2nd floor rooms. We were completely disconnected not only on hotel WiFi but also on local data and even calls. The other thing is that they don't allocate the riverside rooms if you have kids below 18 for safety, security and insurance purposes. The riverside rooms are nice as they have balconies overlooking the river. I would come back to stay only in the riverside rooms otherwise I'd come multiple times for a cup of coffee n enjoy the scenic view n sounds of the river. Last but not the list be mindful of the distance from the city center, it's about 30mins walk, bus isn't very frequent and taxi would cost about £15.

Whilst the location is fantastic, the management need to sort out the signage for the car park as it is not informative, obvious or clear. Also, the attitude of the restaurant staff needs a realignment to attain the standards the reception staff, particularly Dee who went above and beyond, achieve. Their attitude was rude, brusque and not at all friendly and it didn't improve with the breakfast which was, quite frankly, shocking in quality. Poached eggs tasting of vinegar, tinned mushrooms, tiny tomatoes and 2 biscuit like hash browns was the vegan breakfast, which was not impressive. Room was spacious but overall hotel could do with a makeover.
