“My stay at Kona Kai Resort was absolutely wonderful, easily one of the best experiences I’ve had in the Keys. The property is stunning, peaceful, and immaculately maintained. The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, making sure every detail was perfect.”

“Check in is a little wonky - you have to call a number when you arrive to request the door code to your room - after that though, all good stuff. Great outdoor environment and plenty of quiet spots to relax. Foam mattress not my favorite, but there are worse fates. Overall a very good experience and convenient to the upper keys. ”

“Great stay. I had a simple basic room, the cheapest one they had which was quaint yet clean with 2 Queen beds. I was down in the keys for a wedding nearby. There’s no full length mirror in the room so I did have to bring one in. Also, they didn’t have paddleboards. They do have single and tandem kayaks, a private beach, a beautiful area to chill by the water, bbq & bonsai garden and a well maintained pool. Staff was friendly. Parking was easy. All in all, great value for the money I paid and would return again. I stayed 3 nights as a single woman. Oh there was a weird sound that kept going off in the room every few minutes that was suspect. Lol but really was a great stay and I do recommend. ”

Personnel sympathique sauf la personne qui nous a accueillis vendredi : jamais vu ça ! Pas bonjour, pas un sourire et une démonstration d'impatience incroyable alors qu'on demandait pourquoi on nous rajoutait 72 dollars en plus des taxes. Elle cognait sur le comptoir avec son stylo en soufflant. Odieuse.”

“We needed a place to stay on the way to Key West. The rooms were very nice, complimentary water. We didn't have an opportunity to enjoy the pool nor complimentary snorkeling (motel is right on the beach). However, checking in was stressful. I booked these rooms via Agoda, had confirmation email from them. Upon arrival at the motel, the check-in desk/dive shop was closed (9pm). There is a sign on the door that I would have a confirmation email from the actual motel. I had a weak signal, but able to verify I did not have one. Another couple showed up after us and had no phone signal. So, we all had to call the after-hours emergency number on my phone (don't know what they would have done otherwise). The man we spoke with was very helpful snd gave us the codes for our doors and the WiFi password. When I went to the front desk in the morning to check it out, express my concerns, the 2 women on the right with the hotel didn't even say hello. The woman on the left with the diving/snorkeling addressed me and explained how their establishment worked. ”

“Pros: staff very friendly, and it’s located in Key Largo as advertised. Cons: Room was small and felt like the inside of a concrete block. Window unit AC was too loud to sleep through, windows were sealed so no circulation (staff provided a fan, which helped second nights). WiFi in room alternated between one bar and nothing. Also not really on a beach—more like docks and rocks. ”

“Beautiful place, clean and renovated. But and a big but- No water pressure to take a shower. I couldn't wash my hair after a day at the beach. That was a huge disappointed 🙁 ”

“We were promised the world to get us to select this venue for our son's wedding. After writing the check we were basically on our own. Emails were not returned in a timely fashion and communication was spotty. Once we were actually there for the wedding we had no wedding coordinator for our rehearsal and were told if we wanted the lights on for the reception outside (that hadn't ever been off in the three days prior to the wedding) it would be an additional $1800! They also wanted to charge us an additional $1000 to move the speaker from the cocktail hour to the reception site (about 100 feet away). On a positive note, the food was amazing, and the resort is pretty, but be prepared to be nickel and dimed your entire stay. Outside of the wedding venue nothing else was included with the $450-$650 per night price either...not even breakfast which is $36 PER PERSON! Paddleboards etc. were all extra as well. They had the pool heater turned off and the water was freezing! The staff around the resort were friendly and the place was clean. The wedding was beautiful...just more than we expected.”
