“Baltzell Lodge (like it's name) is relatively unknown. Inconspicuous location. More like 'the other side of the tracks.' However it's not that far from town (Great Bend, Ks). Thankfully it was right where we needed it to be when the alternator light flashed on & off while driving through Great Bend! The car battery pretty much "died" right in front of their location at 705 10th Street. It was fortunate timing. Not only did we fet the 'last room available' but we discovered it had been recently remodeled. The room was large, 2 (comfortable) queen beds, refrigerator and microwave topped it off. A full bathroom (with shower & tub) Niiagara Falls-like water pressure,. The room was very clean and everything was practically brewing, including the air conditioner. Understanding that providence (and answered prayer) had brought us to a nice environment, we slept soundly peace. (Fortunately we found a great mobile mechanic who came to the Baltzell to replace the alternator). Aaron's Roadside Repair 4.9 rated just in case you find your in need. Thanks Baltzell Lodge! “I've stayed here each September for 3 years now. Bathroom was extremely clean. Not a lot of amenities. But meets the need for a place to sleep and shower. I enjoy coming back after a year and seeing the manager's dog and cat again. ”
