“When I made a reservation to stay at the Mountaineer, I thought we were getting the cabins, not the resort adjacent to the cabins. We found the resort dated and dingy, infested w/ ants, told there was a refrigerator & there wasn’t. No caffeinated coffee available. We appreciated the location on Main Street but we’ll stay somewhere upscale next time for same price we paid. ”

“This is an older motel, probably built mid 60"s 70"s. Facility is super clean, beds very comfortable, lots of hot water, very quiet. No traffic or city noise. Other guests were very quiet and respectful. It is a short drive to Boone, NC for lots of restaurants, shopping, Appalachian State University, and any type of urban amenities. I will certainly stay at Hillwinds when I am in the Boone area.”
