The location is amazing with all of the great places along this stop on the blue ridge parkway a short drive away and amazing food, parks, and shops a short walk away. You won't regret staying here. ”

“I stayed for one night on 6/13/26. There are things I liked and things I didn't like: Pros: 1) It's a good value. 2) The rooms are updated. They look clean and fresh, with updated furnishings and white bedding. 3) The TV is nice and big. I think it was 55-65". 4) There are blinds, not curtains, in the rooms, which really helps it stay nice and dark in there in the morning. 5) You get an assigned parking space right in front of your room. Cons: 1) When I arrived I was blown away by the strong disinfectant smell. I had to open the door for awhile to air it out. 2) The rooms are carpeted. There was a big stain (or wet spot?) on the floor by the door. I didn't like the idea of walking around barefoot on that floor, wondering what cooties might be embedded in there. 3) The A/C is LOUD. It cut off and on all night long, and I woke up about a dozen times which is unusual for me. 4) The tv is way to the right of the bed, and it doesn't tilt. It should be across from the bed, where the dresser is. The dresser could have easily been put against the same wall as the bed to make room for the tv across from the bed.”

“This is an older motel, probably built mid 60"s 70"s. Facility is super clean, beds very comfortable, lots of hot water, very quiet. No traffic or city noise. Other guests were very quiet and respectful. It is a short drive to Boone, NC for lots of restaurants, shopping, Appalachian State University, and any type of urban amenities. I will certainly stay at Hillwinds when I am in the Boone area.”
