“First off, the location is cool. A partly restored and modernized Ksar, with original ruin Ksar attached. Tastefully appointed, clean and gorgeous at night. Very odd to find dinosaurs placed around the site. Quite hokey and out of place, I must say. Really takes away from the mystique.
My room was nice, large with a sitting area. Bathroom was functional. Shower never seemed to get hot. The AC/Heating unit in the room worked well. Someone set it for 30C when I arrived and it was sweltering. Changed it to AC mode and it came down pretty quickly with the door also opened.
It was only I and one other couple that night in the hotel. As such, the hotel restaurant wasn’t open. It was pretty quiet, until around 5 AM when I was woken up by some Arabic music (not the call to prayer) that lasted at least a half an hour. That was sleep I really could have used, but never got. ”
