“My daughter (16) and I stayed 2 nights at this grand hotel in mid august. We enjoyed our stay very much, mainly because of the closeness to the beach and the private beach area with sun loungers for Sofitel guests only. We were impressed by the beautiful look of the hotel from the outside.. It is situated in a lovely garden that is well taken care of. We were disappointed of the room on 4th floor. It was old and nothing special. We did not feel that it was a 5 star room. The hotel, apart from the room and somewhat old and dated decor all over on the inside, was very nice. The gym was not so great as at Sheraton next door, but good enough. The spa with the pool was nice, but full of small, noisy kids, so we did not spend much time there. Rooms at Sofitel are expensive, and the high price is even without breakfast! The cost of breakfast was PLN110 (29-30$) per 1 person, which is very expensive for breakfast even if it is in a fancy hotel. We had a lovely breakfast for 2 in different restaurants close by for PLN 100-120 for both of us, so unless you eat a lot for breakfast, the price the hotel wants is not worth it. Sopot was very nice, but next time we will probably go for another hotel, because we found the high price not worth it for what we got. But if money is not an issue, book a room on second or third floor facing the beach, with breakfast included.”
