“Awesome space with two bunkbeds and friendly staffs. Perfect if you are in Samal for day tour and you’d like to stay somewhere cheaper at night. Good wifi connection and tv with Netflix too. It is also in the quiet area so you’ll have sound sleep. Probably would be good if the living room has AC too so it will be more comfy to stay in the living room especially those staying in the bunkbed outside the rooms. ”

“Discovery Samal is a 5-star resort that does not feel like one, primarily due to the food. Given the 5-star level and premium prices, we expected only top-notch here. Coming from the hospitality industry ourselves, our expectations were naturally high, but unfortunately, they were not met. Honestly, we’re not sure if we want to come back. Although their pools and beach were amazing. Room >Spacious and clean, including the bathroom and terrace, with nice flooring >Their bed was too firm for our comfort >We loved their bathroom products >AC felt like it did not work properly. It was not getting our room cold enough. >Artwork (concrete dock) looks depressing - should be more vibrant. >The toilet's flushing system does not seem to work well - you need to flush 2 times. >Their toilet was leaking at the back. Their plumbing team came to check but never returned when they said they’ll get silicone to cover it up. >There was a small cockroach in our room >Housekeeping came for the make-up room service then later asked if we were checking out. They should know this info. >We experienced 3 blackouts/power-change during our stay, which was inconvenient. Ragu pasta had watery consistency with a burnt smell, and seafood vongole lacked seafood flavor. We initially planned to try their steak the next evening, but hesitated for the fear that they cannot deliver premium food for the premium price. >Bistro Cafe/Bar: Drinks were amazing. Kudos to the barista on Apr 10, 2026. >Haribar Lounge: Food was average >In-room dining was disappointing. Wagyu burger did not taste like wagyu/beefy, just watery. “We are group of 6-adults & a 3-year old. Overnight stay. This property is quite small but with great facilities and service. Friendly staff and lifeguards are always on the lookout. Our great appreciation and thanks to the lifeguard who saved our 3-year old who accidentally fell into the deep. The lifeguard's reaction was instant. No serious injuries, only the child's bruised ego. The only con was the breakfast I ordered which was tocilog. The pork was all fats, I didn't ate it. I should have ordered cornbeef instead. This place is pricey, it's a bit up there. (BAKADA RM. P8,500 good for 2-Adults only but it accomodate 6-adults; Additional P1,500 per additional adult = 4adult x P1,500 = P6,000; Total P14,500. The room was very clean, smells clean and very cold (2-split type aircon). The room was small for our group but it has well thought layout with small kitchenette making it comfortable for the occupants. It has two comfy bunk beds. However the balcony was huge, the same size as the interior. It made the difference. Overall this place is a gem and the location is great, just a five minutes ride from the wharf (barge dock). We enjoyed our stay even it rained heavily that night, we just dip in the pool under the heavy rain, with a beer at hand. It doesn't get better than that. (Pool is open until 8:00PM). Very memorable. We will surely be back given the chance. Thank you very much for the fast acting lifeguards. You deserved an award. “Short but sweet stay convenient room to the pool”

“There should be a separate entrance for the guest staying in the villas. Waited in a huge line to enter in the heat with stuff in our bags. Melting like gifts for family and then having the security guards go through all of our bags to check in In front of everybody in line on a day pass held up the lines long lines because we have lots of bags. They would not let me take a beer back to our villa. We couldn't bring in any pop and Iike a 2 L of Coca-Cola. Just way too many rules. When you are staying there, I can understand on a day pass, but not when you rented a villa.”
