“Room and bathroom are not organized and are not clean as they seem to be!”

“The host ensured we have what we need and responded to us quickly. Cookware, utensils, rice cooker and heater are provided. There's a tv, table and chairs. The room itself isn't that big but things provided are useful anyways. Thank you!”

“Location: - 10-15-minute drive/ride by baobao to Dahican beach (30-min walk if on foot). Approximately 20 minutes away from Mati city proper. - Subdivision is right by the highway so is relatively easy to access by car/baobao - Subdivision is quiet. Good for relaxation. - There is a sari-sari store right outside the subdivision for miscellaneous needs. Very convenient! Decor - Warm lights in living area and bedroom feel homey. - Couch in living room spacious (but foam was very thin). Good thing there were throw pillows. Amenities: - Smart door lock for main entrance to house (no need to bring a key). Lock has deadbolt feature. - Curtains on all windows afford privacy. - Wifi is fast (300 mbps when I checked) and reliable. Smart TV had a Netflix guest account that could be used (a nice touch). - Hanging area for wet clothes with a rack outside the back door was thoughtful. However, the area smelled of urine and there were random bottles outside. Better if this is cleaned between guests. - No power outages during our stay (although lights did flicker sometimes). Appreciated the backup emergency lights under the TV and generator as contingency plans. - Aircon present both in living area and bedroom. Very comfortable against the heat. - Kitchen was fully equipped (gas, gas stove, pans, pan cover, vent, water heater, rice cooker, plates, utensils, mugs, refrigerator). Best feature of the whole home relatively. - Bath towels provided (but no toothbrush, soap, shampoo). - Bedroom with 2 blankets, 2 pillows, 1 spacious closet (but closet door creaks a lot and for a long time). - Living room tables were wobbly but we could at least place a few things. - Some dining room chairs were also wobbly but functional. Water - 1.5 gallons of drinking water was provided and there was a cooler with heater function. Highly appreciated not having to buy drinking water which tends to be heavy to carry especially without a car. - Strong water pressure in the kitchen sink but weak in the bathroom. No water service interruptions as well when we were there. - Tap water is colorless and looks more or less clean. - Bathroom water from the shower smelled of sewage right after opening (eventually goes away if water is left running for around 5 minutes but this is wasteful). - Faucet by kitchen sink leaks when turned off but can be remedied by a few adjustments. - Water heater in shower area trips on its own. It displays error message even if power setting is set at the lowest (P1). Good thing the weather was relatively hot so the water that comes out was room temp and we were not too inconvenienced. Security: - No guard on duty on subdivision entrance. There is a guardhouse but it is almost always empty (especially during daytime). We noted a man in civilian clothes with a logbook on our first night (Wednesday night) but did not see him thereafter. - Main gate does not lock from outside. We were scared for the house on our first night when we had to go out to buy supplies because of this. - Back door cannot be locked. We had to prop chairs against the back door just to feel a bit more secure. - Front and back screen doors cannot be locked. - Side gate connecting the house to the adjacent house (lot 1) was open and had no lock. People from that house could have easily accessed the homestay if they wanted. - Main bedroom door cannot be locked. We also had to prop our luggage and a chair inside the bedroom against the bedroom door just to be able to sleep well. Others: - Bathroom door has holes where the door handles used to be. Bad for aesthetic and gives off feeling of insecurity. - Wall also has peeling paint. Makes place look rundown. Might put off more particular guests. - Some screws in various furniture were loose and worrisome. - Smart door code was provided late. Had to contact all 3 contact numbers provided to get an answer. One answered right before we got to the house. The other answered the day after we got in. Better if they double/tr”
