“This is a great compromise if you’re looking for an affordable stay with an incredible location. The view is absolutely breathtaking—the cabin overlooks a beautiful fjord bay, and if you’re feeling adventurous, you can even go for a swim right there.
The cabin itself is warm, cozy, and well-equipped. It includes cookware, dishes, and a stovetop, while the shared kitchen has everything you need to wash up afterward. The shared showers and toilets were clean and smelled pleasantly fresh thanks to the diffusers.
There are a few things worth keeping in mind. Bed linen, towels, and final cleaning may be charged separately, which we later realized is actually quite common in Norway. The biggest inconvenience, however, was the paid showers. There are also paid washing machines and dryers, but those are easier to accept than having to pay for a shower. Another challenge is that the shower, washing machine, and dryer all operate only with 10 NOK coins (5 minutes per coin).
Getting cash or exchanging money into coins without a physical local bank card can be surprisingly difficult, so I highly recommend planning for this in advance if you’re traveling in Norway. Fortunately, the staff were incredibly kind and gave us two 10 NOK coins so we could take a shower, which we really appreciated.
Apart from the shower situation, everything else about our stay was fantastic. The location, the view, and the overall experience were absolutely amazing, and I would happily stay here again.”
