This is a spacious private traditional Japanese house, and I highly recommend it for families with children or larger groups. The house is very spacious, so we were able to relax and enjoy our stay comfortably. It is also conveniently located for visiting both Nikko and Oku-Nikko. Every room has air conditioning, which was very helpful during the summer. Having both a washing machine and a gas dryer was a great advantage, especially when traveling with children. For international visitors, staying in this traditional Japanese house is also a wonderful opportunity to experience a more authentic Japanese lifestyle. There are a few things that could be improved. There was a slight musty smell inside the house, and the terrace and garden could benefit from more regular cleaning and trimming of the grass. Since there is a kitchen, it would also be helpful to provide some basic seasonings such as salt, pepper, and cooking oil. Unfortunately, we were also unable to watch TV during our stay. Most of the signs and information inside the house were written only in English. This may be convenient for international guests, but having Japanese instructions as well would make the accommodation easier for Japanese guests to use. Overall, we enjoyed staying in this unique traditional Japanese house. It is especially suitable for families and groups who want a spacious place to stay and experience a traditional Japanese atmosphere. ”

“Close to Imaichi station and had lots of amenities for free that anybody could use. Beds were comfortable. ”

“Good.. 👍”

“We chanced upon this as a result of my bro-in-law's boioking error but it turned out great. The place is grossly under-advertised as it used to serve mainly Japanese clients. It more than make up for this with delightful landlady, a beautiful abode, a great hearth-skewers dinner and breakfast omakase-style with interesting meats. It is a wonderful diversion from a highly commercial Nikko. It sits in the oustskirt of the district but the area has enough attractions to mix-into the ride. A tip -- Do search the internet for reviews and for non-Japanese, try it and be impressed. ”
