“Loved the location Super view. The lady who was appointed to cook was very helpful and sweet. We had breakfast and dinner. Both well made. But there is only one room and its bathroom needs an upgrade. The living room cum kitchen was one large room so whoever sleeps in the living room will definately get disturbed if you use the kitchen . The pictures of the inside are nicer than the interior itself. Reason for 3 stars on cleanliness was that the caretaker initially refused to clean even though we had booked for 2 nights. There is an aquaguard which was very helpful. And the kitchen did have a stove and fridge. ”

“Two nights at Villa Machan in Karandi Khurd, and we came back lighter. The villa we chose to stay in was built for two couples, and the balcony view is the kind where the greenery feels like it's right there with you. Around the property are walking trails that are outstanding, and the massive Yelwandi lake (the Bhatghar backwaters) is just a short hike or walk away. Relatively untouched, peaceful, and a wonderful escape from the hustle and bustle. The food surprised me. It's cooked by a Nepali chef, and it's the same food tue owner of the property and his family eat. It has that home-cooked feel and flavour, but the taste and quality is excellent. The housekeeping team was friendly, hardworking and always ready to step up with a smile. And then there's Parmod Bhalla, who runs the place. He's 70 and easily the youngest 70 I've met. A former senior CXO with a large Indian MNC, extremely well read, widely travelled, and full of stories. Over two evenings we went from the region's specialties to history to philosophy. High thinking, simple living, and he lives it. He resides in Pune and drives down very often to the retreat. If you want clean air, water bodies, and a place in the wilderness where you can blend with nature, this is a great pick. To drive to the property the roads are well connected and in a good condition. For the hike paths , it’s motor-able, however advisable to travel in a SUV or even better, if you like some exercise , just leg it up there ”
