Due to the city location the rooms could appear dark. Everyone was polite, friendly and helpful. It was a 20min walk into the old town but we knew that and it was no problem. “The Good: The hotel itself is fantastic. The rooms are very clean, the staff is exceptionally nice and accommodating, and the location is geographically excellent. You are right next to Lions Square in the heart of Heraklion, which makes getting around the city incredibly convenient. The Drawback: The only issue is the specific street the hotel is located on, which feels quite hostile and intimidating for Israeli or Jewish tourists. At the entrance to the street, there is a prominent sign reading "HERAKLION ANTIZIONIST ZONE." Beyond that, almost every wall along the street is covered in graffiti, including red triangles, "Free Palestine," and "death to the IDF" slogans. While the staff inside the hotel is great, having to walk down this specific street at night felt scary and uncomfortable. Overall: Other than the unsettling political atmosphere on the street outside, everything inside the hotel was completely fine and we had a good stay.”
