“We thoroughly enjoyed our one night’s stay here. The furniture was in keeping with the age and style of the house and we were intrigued by its history. I just wanted to sit on the chaise longue and watch the clouds descend then disappear from the hills beyond. I was particularly impressed with the tea tray. Fresh coffee. Lovely touch. The only minor points of complaint were the temperature (unable to turn heating down or off) and it was rather noisy when it came on so didn’t sleep as well as we could have. We would definitely recommend staying here. ”

“We've stayed at The Calf's Head a couple of times before. The service and staff are first class. Great breakfast. Previous rooms have been of a good size. This time we were in room 9. It's a small room, with the bed pushed to the wall on one side which, for a couple, means that one person has to climb over the bed to get in. More of a single room than a double.”
