“The hotel itself was adequately equipped and overall acceptable. The Executive room was very well furnished and comfortable. As for the canyon view – don’t necessarily expect a direct iconic bridge-facing view (I’m not even sure if such rooms really exist), but it was still a genuine canyon view, just from the opposite side;-) My main complaint, however, was quite serious. I had booked two non-smoking rooms, but one of them clearly smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. The staff refused to change it, saying there were no other rooms available. That felt rather unprofessional, especially since this issue was neither mentioned beforehand nor reflected in the price. Overall, the hotel was decent, but the handling of the smoking-room issue made the experience less satisfactory than expected.”

“I was very fortunate to meet Karim when I stayed in the Hotel El Bey.Karim speaks fluent English and the hospitality he showed went above and beyond the call of duty.After I checked in,I told Karim I wanted to visit Djimela.Karim made a few inquiries on my behalf but there were no drivers available for the trip.Karim then offered to take me ( despite the fact it was his day off ) with his father as the designated driver ( I subsequently found out Karim had persuaded his father to take a day off )The trip itself was a great success and Karim's father paid for my entry ticket to Djimela and for the lunch we had afterwards.He also provided me with water and dropped me off at the airport for my return flight to Algiers.I had to persuade Karim and his father to take a nominal fee for the services rendered and needless to say it was a fraction of the cost I would have paid if I had gone to a tour agency.I still feel overwhelmed by the hospitality I was shown by Karim and his father.They are extraordinary ambassadors for their country and if Karim's boss ever reads this review I think he should grant his stellar employee a hefty pay rise.”
