“Overall Great hotel with a stunning view. Infinity pool and comfy sunbeds. Our room had an incredible view as well with a beautiful terrace. No kettles in our room, but we could get hot water for free from the restaurant during the whole day. King size bed was very comfortable. Location We didn’t have a car. It’s about 10min from the ferry, not recommended to walk as it’d take an hour on a dusty road. Cab charged us 5000 colones from the ferry. Restaurant Part of the hotel. Decent, not extraordinary food. But convenient. A bit slow service, e.g. waited for 2 sandwiches or 2 starters for about one hours. So order well in advance of getting hungry. They are very friendly and forthcoming. Ceviche was great, jumbo shrimps not that good, caprese sandwiches decent, spicy margaritas were excellent. For breakfast we wanted fresh fruits and yogurt, granola and they had those in very good quality. Tea selection is not as great, but we brought our tea from Europe anyway. Costa Rica has better coffee culture. Tours We asked about a bioluminescence tour and they booked us a night kayaking tour „Bahia Rica“. Staff was helpful in this regard to find a tour for 36 dollars per person, but the tour was extremely disappointing. Kayaking itself was fun, but short. We expected to see glowing sea when moving with a tour but we saw a few tiny spots. Really not worth going there. We changed our entire itinwrary to be there for a darker night and got that tour. If you’re considering full on bioluminescence, I’d say to adjust your expectations or skip Paquera. ”

“This was an amazing hotel! The staff were all so friendly and very helpful. You can tell they take pride in the place and the service they offer. They had many activities available on site to book as well - we rented stand up paddle boards for a couple hours. The only downside is the area is a little isolated so you can't really walk around a town (not that you would need to anyways)”

“Beautiful location right on the beach. Restaurants were all very low quality food except the Asian restaurant. Evening shows were poorly run, all in Spanish, no English even though a large portion of the crowd were from Canada and USA. ”
