“Glenferrie Hotel was beautiful in its history, presentation and charm. Plenty of room to move around the King bedroom and the bathroom was fitted out and decorated to suit a bygone era, yet it was comfortable and there was no bother using the old hand basin, small cabinet sized mirror and toilet. (Full length mirror on the back of the door.). Big windows, lots of light. Clean carpet. I never liked those decorative pillows and little bed spread strips. I think it's more modern, in a hygiene sense, to do without those, though they were very clean looking. An extra layer of insulation on the windows that faced a busy road meant I heard little to no traffic noise (a mid-week night), the aircon was spotless - I always check filters, under the bed was spotless and I was confident to believe that the corner sofa was also spotless. I saw the cleaner at work and he was meticulous. (Thank you). There's nothing in the bar fridge but 1 mini uht milk but that was ok because 3 minutes away was a street full of shops. There was plenty of tea and 2 powdered hot chocolates. (I don't drink coffee so I didn't look at that). There's no elevator but the dozen or so stairs to the first floor were on because the concierge offered to carry my bag up. (I asked for first for because of the stairs). The parking underneath the building was actually not the nightmare I imagined. It's six spaces under a verandah. No twenty point turns. Drive in - drive out. Easy. If stay there again. The price is normally around *** but Agoda had the room at ***. If you want a perfectly modern place - don't come here. If you live living in yesteryear - this is the place for you. I loved it. ”
