We stayed at Lovane Boutique Wine Estate & Guest House for two nights during our honeymoon, and it turned out to be a charming, intimate escape on the outskirts of Stellenbosch. The rooms are named after wine varietals—we stayed in the Chardonnay room—which added a nice thematic touch. The first-floor rooms are the ones to book for the beautiful views of the surrounding hills, and if you can, choose a room with a bathtub to make the stay extra special. The property is quaint and picturesque, very different from the large wine estates that feel more like full-scale luxury resorts. It feels personal and peaceful—ideal for a couple or even a solo traveller looking to slow down. The complimentary wine tasting and the thoughtful welcome note with a bottle of their reserve red on arrival were lovely honeymoon touches. Breakfast was fresh and well made—the cheese omelette was a highlight—though the overall spread is limited. One thing to plan for is that service is minimal and the restaurant closes at 5 pm, with no room service after the afternoon, so we ended up ordering dinner via Uber Eats. Overall, a warm, scenic and relaxed stay that’s perfect if you value quiet charm, views and a boutique experience over full-service luxury.

I had a wonderful stay at LovanE! Before arriving, I messaged them through Agoda with a few questions, and they replied almost instantly every time with clear and helpful information. Once there, the hospitality was just as fantastic—warm, attentive, and very thoughtful. The estate itself is gorgeous; sitting outside with a view of the vineyards and mountains at sunset was unforgettable. Breakfast with a view was the cherry on top. Everything went smoothly from start to finish. I would definitely stay here again!

It's 1am on Sunday morning and the farmworkers on the neighboring farm are having a party- music thumping!!! And as per the pics the bathroom flooded!! Im just south African. For R2000 per night!! Wow. I could have stayed home

We loved LovanE. The staff were incredible. The food and wine, superb. The rooms were perfect for our needs, and the parking was convenient and safe. We will be back on our next trip to the Cape.

We love the interior of the room, staff are great, breakfast is good, you have two choices of main breakfast to choose from aside from the spread of breads, cold cuts, fruits etc. Got a complimentary bottle of red wine in the room, which is quite good. We are not able to do the wine tasting as there is no scheduled 4:30pm that day, we were advised to do it the next day but we don’t have the time to do it as we have to leave early so I can not comment regarding the wine tasting at Lovane.
