Our room was comfortable with everything we needed and it was pleasant sitting on the balcony overlooking the luscious garden and pool with vineyards and cattle grazing in a field nearby. We never had breakfast so I am unable to comment on that. Checking in was quick although checking out was rather slow this morning.

A bit confusion on late arrival...

We had a very comfortable stay. The two ladies are super friendly, helpfully and polite. The Belgium owner who was there didn't even great us when we say hello to him. Nevertheless, we had nothing to do with him. We absolutely come back!

Always a pleasure staying over. Neat rooms and bathrooms with friendly staff, and a beautiful view. Highly recommended

I always feel that it is necessary to write a review after visiting a guesthouse so that the next person knows what they can expect. Would I visit De Wingerd Wijnland Lodge again? No Was it affordable? Yes, considering I got a discount of around 65%. If I were to pay full price I would have asked for my money back. The Room. The room was clean, however there was no 'caddy' in the shower to put your soap, shampoo, washcloth etc. I had to put it on the floor. It irked me. The DSTV is not full package and of the few channels I had, only two or three actually worked. Also, the rooms are close together and when other doors open and close you hear them. Sound travel, so if you need a quite stay, this wont work for you. The Staff. I was late to book in, so I only saw the lady the next day. She was friendly, but I have had better experiences with other guesthouses / managers. If there was someone during the evening I didn't see them, otherwise I would have asked to sort out the TV. The Location The location was probably the best part of the stay. The view of the mountain and vineyard was great, but other than that and the beautiful garden, it is what you can expect from a guesthouse at the foot of Paarl Mountain. Overall if I had to score the De Wingerd Wijnland Lodge out of 10 i'd stuggle to give it a 6. Perhaps during peak season the experience for others would be better, but people travel all year round, so one expects a great stay all the time.
