Das Hotel ist schon, trotz seines gar nicht so hohen Alters, in die Jahre gekommen. Der Preis, den man für das Hotel zahlt, ist meines Erachtens nicht gerechtfertigt (für das gleiche Geld bekommt man in den größeren Städten schon ein internationales Mercure-Hotel). Das Bad gibt manchmal einen etwas schlechten Geruch ab und an den Kanten sieht es schon sehr verkalkt (und teilweise verschimmelt) aus - Letzteres könnte aber auch an den schwarzen Silikonfugen liegen. Die Hotelangestellten sind aber super lieb und freundlich, auch der Manager versucht Probleme möglichst schnell und zur Zufriedenheit des Gastes zu klären.

There are four things about this hotel: One, the breakfast spread was amazing. They offered a great selection of traditional Minang cuisine each day and everything was delicious. Two, the location is probably the best one in the area. It wasn't located directly in the center of the chaotic Jam Gadang area which would result in some noise pollution during the peak hours, but it's still a nice walking distance to the center. The view was also nice, but understandably you need to pay more for a room with a direct view of the Ngarai below. The third thing I appreciate was the smart TV installed in the rooms, so we can watch YouTube, Netflix, etc. aside from the cable channels. The last one is that there's a nice play area for kids next to the pool. Now, the rest of the things this hotel could use some improvements. Out of all the electrical sockets in my room, only 2 could work to charge my devices. The lighting was too dark, especially in the shower stall. There is a leak from under one of the floor tile in the bathroom, everything we step on that one tile, water would seep out and make a puddle on the floor.

We are a group of 6 adults and 1 baby, we've booked 3 rooms. Happy with the location and facility but believed the rooms need some major refurbished, as the rooms was not properly maintained. Having request laundry services and they helped to facilitate my request although it was quite an odd hours. Kudos! Breakfast spread was nothing intrigue. We prefer to have our meal at the local resto. But location wise was winning. We walked at night from Jam Gadang to the hotel and it was safe, considering we have a baby and elderly parent in our group.

The location is very near to tourist area. The price is abit on the high side. And it has a pool. Don’t forget to check the mini bar content when checking in to avoid unnecesary charges.

Older style hotel. Nice view from balcony and rooms. Great location, short walk to town center. Breakfast good.
