Caligo Resort

The hotel faced the mountain. View was great . In the morning, you could see fog. They only have 1 pool villa, the rest is jacuzzi villa. Room size is big enough and feels comfortable. Although, we booked for the pool villa room, and ended up in a jacuzzi villa type because their booking system was wrong…but they refund the difference. The location was also good because it’s so close to เขื่อเชียวหลาน pier!

Nice room with panoramic view. Bathroom quite too big , would be better if generated some bathroom space to be room or common area. Nice staff except the lady staff who work at lobby in the morning. Breakfast is the worst thing ever. Poor food variety and quality compared to what we paid for. Instant coffee in boutique resort was the terrible thing in set up in buffet line.

The location is stunning. Obviously, the view is amazing and the balcony was an insagramer's dream. Myself and my partner only stayed for one night but we were a little confused by pretty much everything at this hotel. That's not because we have super high standards - quite the opposite actually. Generally speaking we're happy in any hotel as long as the basics are there and the staff are helpful. Nothing was terrible but we found a lot of irritating things with this hotel: 1. There were so many ants in our room! The night before our stay in Caligo Resort, we stayed in an 'eco-lodge' in the jungle, where the windows had no glass in them, and there was less bugs in there... 2. There is no bar area to get a drink/food whenever you like - you have to use the WhatsApp room service which I'll get onto now. 3. All requests for meals/ snacks/ drinks/ taxi's etc. are made by messaging a WhatsApp number. Some people might love this - we did not. It felt like you weren't in control of your own time. You're sat there looking at your phone wondering when the message will be read and how long you'll have to wait for a response. In my opinion, this is not better than just going to ask a staff member. For the most part, the system worked pretty well - I just don't think it's actually an improvement in any way. 4. Breakfast is available in the restaurant from 07:00-10:00 (no complaints there), then the kitchen closes and only opens again 17:00 - 19:30... Call me old fashioned, but what about lunch? Or what if you usually eat late? 5. This was probably the biggest issue for us. The hotel is very isolated so you can't just pop out to 7 ELEVEN - there was nowhere to fill water bottles and (after the complimentary 1 litre was gone) all water had to be purchased from the rooms minibar or requested via WhatsApp. It kind of felt like the hotel were just shooting fish in a barrel - albeit a barrel with a beautiful view. Not terrible but a long way from perfect!

The room was lovely, with a bath tub offering an amazing view. Room service was good and met our expectations. However, the dinner and breakfast were quite basic and didn't impress. It's a shame because the quality of the rooms is excellent, but the dining experience doesn't match up.

Being in a place like that is very relaxing ,anyone who wants a change away from beaches this is the place for it.
