드로스티 호텔

Drostdy Hotel is the premier hotel in Graaff Reinet, excellent location, historic venue and wonderful centre for entertainment in the town. This was not our first time at Drostdy Hotel, and it won’t be our last. However, maintenance issues impacted on our enjoyment, so the hotel must accept that these are historic buildings requiring attention. Staff training needs improvement.

The service is amazing, all the staff are so friendly. The food is delicious & great value (with the current exchange rate at least!). There are also 3 outdoor pools, a sauna & a small gym with a treadmill, elliptical, bike & dumbbells, which I had to myself at 6:30am. The room was great, with a huge bathroom. Bear in mind though, that if you ask for the double bed option, it’s not a double - just 2 singles, made up separately, pushed together. Not ideal if you want a cuddle and don’t want to fall through the middle! The pillows are also extremely soft, but we used the cushions instead.

Restaurant food and service needs to be reviewed. Lack of floor management and inexperienced waiters needs training.

I stayed at the Drosdy hotel about 40 years ago, and enjoyed it thoroughly then. It has kept up the high standards snd improved into a wotld class establishment. Everything was considered, kind and welcoming. Definitely recommend.
