Wynnstay Arms, Ruabon, Wrexham

Probably because of our room location being positioned over the gents toilets, but the constant noise of the toilet being flushed, noisy tap and the drone of the hand dryer was draining. Oh I forgot and a slamming door plus the room was so hot and not being able to open the window because it was right next to the kitchen extractor vent! The hotel its self is great sounds like im being harsh but personally I feel the room we had shouldn't be a guest room.

The hotel is clean and well kept. Our room was large and very nicely fitted out with a large comfy bed and a modern shower room. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The food is great and they have different promotions on some nights like chippy Tuesday and a burger night with a free pint. Breakfast is really good and I recommend the full Welsh one. There is also a veggie version which my wife had and she was impressed by the quality of the food. The only downside to our stay was the noise from outside in our room (8). It has single glazed windows and is over the main road and opposite a church which has a clock that chimes every 15 minutes throughout the night. It didn’t bother my wife who is slightly deaf but I have acute hearing and am a light sleeper so it made sleeping difficult for me.

Great pub, great food, lovely staff. There is not much in Ruabon itself apart from a few good pubs and shops, but for a short break or stepping stone into Wales it's ideal !
