The hotel was very welcoming, especially towards our dogs. Everyone was super friendly, even the locals. The location was nice, although not much to do around there. Nice dog walking field close by next to the river, need walking boots very muddy! The hotel is very old and full of character, lots a wedges in the room keeping things straight. Room was spacious, water pressure terrible but power shower good. Bathroom very clean. TV on other side of the room, impossible to watch in bed as we like to do. Went all inclusive, food was lovely and quickly served. Breakfast was ok, asked for fried bread and couldn’t make it! On leaving and settling the bill we realised we had been charged twice for food. Got a refund no problem, but they charged us for £60 for the dogs for 2 nights. They did knock £20 off that due to the overcharge of the food, but was still over charged as it was only supposed to be £30 for the dogs (£5 per dog per night) and only realised later. Overall it was a pleasant enough stay, however wouldn’t return.

You dont eat in the main restaurant at night, only a small room if available next to noisy bar, or eat in the noisy bar with dogs jumping up trying to reach the tables! unhygienic. We have been staying at this hotel in the past many times, we always eat at the main restaurant, more privacy. Also our booking was not logged to eat in on our second night stay, it was very noisy and over booked. we have to have fish and chips from a chip shop! The choice of beer and larga was limited, not nice. On a positive, the manager and staff are friendly, the hotel was clean and olde worlde.

Me and my fiancé stayed in the Cain Valley Hotel for one night just as a get away from the rat race. It was a perfect stay! The staff were super friendly, food absolutely amazing, the room was massive and very clean (we loved the oldy worldly feel to all of the hotel) We would definitely stay here again and would most certainly recommend it to anyone wanting a quiet getaway 😊
