Although a bit dated and could probably do with a lick of paint was ideal for what I wanted. Jamie couldn’t have been more helpful especially with breakfast requests and bar food was excellent. Remember bar not open on Mondays but local pub was good for food also. If I’m working in the area again I’ll certainly be back.

Stayed here recently with our dog, small but functional room. Pictures make it look like it's in the middle of nowhere but it's not! Staff were lovely and welcoming. Wouldn't say it was dirty but the bedroom area was quite old fashioned and just tired looking. Bathroom was ok though! Walls are paper thin, you can hear every noise from the next room. Alright as a base to get your head down between days exploring the local surroundings but just hope you don't get noisy neighbours.

It is in a great location and very quiet at night. My room was reasonably comfortable. But the bed was old and there was no hot water in the hand basin tap. Also the bathroom floor was grubby. And the internet was very slow. But the bar was welcoming and friendly and I did enjoy staying there; as long as you know it is an old hotel, it is fine.

Nice and friendly staff

We arrived late having called Hotel about 8:30 in the evening. The room was freezing cold. They had put a small electric heater in the room. We left it on and went to see some friends back at About 12 midnight and the room was still freezing cold. The radiator on the wall which we discovered was turned of so I turned it on and the radiator got toasty, hot but night mode kicked in in about half an hour and it turned off. Didn’t want to try to contact the night manager because you didn’t answer his phone in the day. Next day we went out leaving the radiator on and the electric heater and radiator in room, nice coffee and chocolate which we enjoyed before we left. we then returned in the evening, expecting the room to have been cleaned and the coffee and tea and milk to be replaced. Unfortunately the door hadn’t been touched. The room hadn’t been opened and then we started to look a little bit more and realise how dirty the room was in places we hadn’t even been to the night before mud was only tiles in the bathroom the shower was uncontrollable. I could say a lot more so if I say when I tried to book out that what I thought was the reasonable time 11 o’clock in the morning I could not get into the pub, handing the key or raise the space the manager using the phone number provided. I was very disappointed with the hotel, particularly as I regularly visit this area and was looking to find a reasonably priced place to stay
