The rooms and facilities unfortunately do not match the level of service here, or lack thereof. We booked a return private transfer to and from the full moon party 5 months prior to our arrival, receiving email confirmation that it is all booked in for us. When we got there, the hotel staff had no idea about our booking and could not facilitate the arrangement. Instead, they offered us the option of catching a shared van at the set times of 8, 9 and 10pm, of which 10pm was already fully booked. When I asked about the return trip, I was told I could either take the shared van back at 11pm or ‘just catch a local taxi back’ - which is a proper cop out from them, and logistically very difficult to do being a foreigner staying in a resort far away. After a lot of back and forth we managed to reach a compromise where we took the shared van there and a private van back. I was quoted all sorts of different prices for the latter, starting from 3600 baht per person, to 3500 baht for the group, then to 1500 baht for the group. No one seemed to know what was going on and everything felt very ad hoc. The downside of being tucked away in a tranquil part of the island is that restaurants are not easy to get to and so there is a heavy reliance on the food the resort offers. Unfortunately the food options including breakfast are rather average with little variety and flavour. The restaurant staff also seem to lack experience - one of the nights we ordered a meal each and a pizza to share. Our individual meals came but not the pizza, so we flagged to the waiter when he came to take our plates that we were still waiting for a pizza. After 20 minutes we asked another waiter about the pizza, which he went off somewhere and didn’t really say much more so we assumed it was coming. Then another 20 minutes passed and another waiter came and told us that the pizza had in fact sold out. I was quite unhappy at 40 minutes had elapsed before they told me this, and they said they would check with the kitchen if anything could be done. We waited another 15 minutes with no news until they came out with the pizza that they had apparently sold out of. Then I checked the bill at the end of it all and found that I had been charged twice for a drink which I only ordered one of - I suspect the waiter double charged me when I asked about my drink which hadn’t come out 20 minutes after my wife had gotten hers. I only stayed 3 nights here and had two lots of negative experiences, which I’ve never had whilst staying in a 5 star resort in the past. The place has lovely facilities and the staff are kind, however their lack of experience in hospitality and poor communication between each other really ruins this place. I won’t be recommending Santhiya to anyone.

Hotel en mauvais etat. Il a du etre tres beau, il y a longtemps. Confort limité. Les clients sont prisonniers. Tout est fait pour nous empecher de sortir. Restauration tres moyenne. 1 seule carte identique pour les 2 restaurants. A part le petit dejeuner tres bien. Tres bon groupe de 2 musiens le soir mais aucune ambiance en dehors du diner. Pas de bar. Pas de fun. Plage pas jolie. Toute petite. Pas grave mais choquant. Un verre fellé dans la chambre nous a ete facturé.

Very beautiful hideaway villa with big private pool at very good price. Staff is great, environment beautiful, room amazing, we were very impressed. A few minor points that could be improved: check-in process took quite a long time. Travellers coming from ferry are very hot, sweaty and mostly just want to enjoy the ac and pool in the room. So this could be done a lot quicker. The hideaway pool villa is great but not super private. We could see other peoples pools and they could see us. These 2 things however did not spoil the experience for us. Probably the best hotel we stayed at (and not the most expensive) excellent value! Thank you Santhiya for a great stay :)

I had the supreme deluxe rooms. They are in hotel 3, last floor, right above a swimming pool. But this hotel is on the edge of the property. And you have wild dogs living on the other side of the gate fighting at night. If you have a room beside like it was my case then your night will be a hell. Fortunately they moved me in another room the next day. The beach is small but not very good for swimming : big waves and water dirty. Hopefully you have the swimming pool behind. After a stay in Santhyia Koh Yao I had big expectations but this one is less wow, though rooms are smaller and for the same price. So just because of this compairison i'm not that impressed.
