Our one-night family stay at Illukawela Walauwa was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we arrived, we were swept away by the breathtaking charm of this beautifully restored colonial manor house. It felt like stepping into a timeless museum, yet it provided all the modern comfort and luxury our family needed.The location is a serene paradise. Nestled quietly away from the city chaos and completely surrounded by lush, emerald paddy fields and banana plantations, it offered the ultimate relaxation. Waking up to the gentle sounds of birdsong and watching resident peacocks wander through the gardens was an unforgettable highlight for both the adults and the kids!Our family room was immaculate, spacious, and perfectly air-conditioned, featuring a lovely terrace with stunning, peaceful views. The kids absolutely loved the gorgeous outdoor infinity pool. It is exceptionally clean and overlooks the scenic landscape, making it the perfect spot to cool down and watch the magnificent sunset from the upper levels of the property.The hospitality here is pure Sri Lankan warmth at its finest. The staff truly cared about making our stay comfortable, anticipating our every need with bright smiles. As for the food—it was absolutely spectacular. Every meal was delicious, fresh, and beautifully prepared, capped off with a wonderful breakfast choice that gave us the perfect start to our day.Though we only stayed for one night, Illukawela Walauwa left a lasting impression on our hearts. It is an absolute hidden gem that offers incredible value for families seeking a blend of heritage, nature, and relaxation.
