We arrived in Yakushima in the middle of a storm, but that didn't stop us from having a great time. The booking is a clean little guest house located in Isso. There were a few other travelers and staff available to chat with. It's a warm environment where communication is encouraged. Laundry was available on site for our soaking clothes. The host was wonderful, spoke fluent English, and helped us plan our routes for hiking and made sure that we got it back safely. The area is good if you are interested in staying near Isso beach. There's also a delicious bakery located 2 minutes away on foot. However, as it's a bit far from the main towns on the island, I would highly recommend you rent a car if you stay here. Parking was available without an issue. I would highly recommend!

Really loved my time here. The owner is incredible. Really one of a kind. The rooms are nice and spacious, the showers are good, and the kitchen’s great! Location is a nice fishing village but if you would recommend renting a car for your stay I’m Yakushima nevertheless, but with this stay especially as it is a bit further away from miyanura. Great and unique experience!
