• The Home at a Glance

• • 4 bedrooms | 2 bathrooms

• Sea views & 1-minute walk to the boardwalk and beach access - to get to the boardwalk/rocks, walk down the driveway, turn left and walk to corner of road (about 50m) and then turn right onto the grass and boardwalk down to the rocks. There is also a path to the right that leads to the closest swimming beach (8-10 min walk).

• This is a self-catering home — please make yourself at home.

• Wood / Gas / Electricity

• Wood

• Extra wood is available in the wooden store / 'wendy house' (in the back garden, at the bottom of the kitchen steps) for the braai/bbq and/or wood-fired hot tub – the key to the wendy house should be hanging in the passage ('wendy house' is written on the back of the key-ring). We do endeavour to place wood at the braai for your convenience.

• Gas

• A spare gas bottle for the kitchen stove, should the gas run out during your stay, is located in the garage. The key to the garage should be hanging in the passage ('garage' is written on the back of the key-ring).

• Electricity

• Electricity is provided via a pre-paid meter. We always ensure that there is more than sufficient credit on the pre-paid meter, but in the event that we forget to do the necessary credit top-ups, please let us know and we will ensure this is corrected immediately. To check if the pre-paid meter is reflecting zero credits, the meter is stored in the cabinet above the kitchen counter facing the passage.

• Security System

• • Blue button (top left) arms and disarms the entire property, including the garage.

• • Green button (top right) activates/deactivates the garage only when the house is not armed.

• • Please arm the system whenever you leave the house and on checkout.

• ⚠️ The red button is a panic button — armed response will be dispatched if pressed. Please do not press it unless there is a genuine emergency.

• Wi-Fi & Smart TV

• • The TV is a Smart TV with access to apps such as Netflix, Showmax, YouTube, etc.

• • Use the Home button on the remote to access apps.

• • Guests must use their own login credentials for streaming services.

• • Please remember to log out of your accounts on checkout if you do not wish to allow other guests later access :-)

• Air Conditioning (Midea Xtreme R32 – 3 units)

• Aircons are located in: Kitchen, Lounge and Main bedroom

• Usage Tips

• • On hot days, both the kitchen and lounge units should be used together — the space is large with high ceilings.

• • Recommended setting: AUTO mode, which regulates temperature efficiently.

• • A comfortable setting is usually 22–24°C.

• Energy Use

• • Please switch aircons off if you'll be out for more than ±3–4 hours.

• • Short on/off cycles are fine, but avoid leaving them running unnecessarily.

• • All aircons must be switched off on checkout.

• • Fully equipped for cooking and entertaining.

• • Coffee supplied: Ground coffee & beans - Bean grinder is next to the milk frother

• • Tea supplied: Ceylon & Rooibos

• • Also provided: Sugar, Olive oil, Basic spices

• • All other food items are self-catering.

• Scullery (Extra Appliances)

• You'll find the following in the scullery:

• • Stand mixer, Air fryer, Blender & hand blender

• • Grill press, Kitchen scale

• • Iron & vacuum cleaner, Headlamp

• Air Fryer – Milex 10L Dual Air Fryer

• This air fryer has two baskets, which can run together or separately.

• Basic steps:

• • Plug in and press the Power button.

• • Select the basket (left, right, or both).

• • Choose a preset (or manually set time & temperature).

• • Press Start.

• • Food can be checked halfway — baskets can be pulled out safely.

• Tip: Most foods cook well at 180°C–200°C. If unsure, start with shorter times and add more if needed.

• Wood-Fired Hot Tub (Kol-Kol)

• Please use with care.

• Basic Use

• • Build a small fire first and gradually add wood – ensure there is reasonable flame.

• • Be careful not to overheat — overheating can make the water uncomfortable or even unbearable - think of it as a kettle, the longer you let it heat, the hotter it will get.

• • Please leave the lid on at all times (except when refilling with wood), partly open to ensure the fire can draw oxygen.

• • If the lid is scalding hot when removed to add wood, please do not place it on the side of the kol-kol as it will burn the plastic.

• • Ideal temperature is warm but not scalding (you should be able to sit comfortably).

• Water Care

• • There is no pump or filter. After use, please add ±1 tablespoon of chlorine, then swirl the water to mix. This helps keep water fresh and reduces the need for refilling.

• • A hose and tap are available in the garden for refilling if needed.

• • Please note that this is a water scarce area and thus please do not empty and refill daily or unnecessarily.

• • Use the net provided to remove any debris.

• Important Rules

• • No eating in the hot tub.

• • Children must be supervised at all times.

• • Extra care with young children — hot water can cause dehydration quickly.

• • Please ensure that the lid is completely on after use to help the fire die out and ensure that no embers blow out (as we can get very strong winds and this is a high-risk area for fires).

• Washing & Drying

• A washing machine is located in the bedroom with the bunk beds, next to the scullery.

• The washing line is outside on the same side as the outdoor shower.

• Outdoor Furniture & Weather

• If heavy rain is expected or on checkout, please bring outdoor cushions inside to keep them dry.

• Beach & Sand

• Please rinse off sand before entering the house.

• Outdoor shower is available for this purpose.
