Kitayuzawa Onsen Town Guesthouse Yamada

This traditional style ryokan was the perfect mountain stop on the way from Otaru to Noboribetsu. The hosts were very welcoming. They didn't speak any english but they took the time to communicate via transaltion app everything we might have wanted to know. There are 2 public onsens in the area, one walking distance from the guesthouse, and the other a 5 minute drive away. Our hosts provided us with all the essential bath supplies to enjoy the onsen. They also provided us with a nutritious breakfast (vegetarian as well) which was well needed for the activities we had planned in the area. The only thing I would say to be aware of is the check in and check out times. They worked for us but they are more restrictive than most.

The lodging is situated in a quaint area near a river and surrounded by a handful of free and reasonably priced onsen. The staff gave a warm friendly welcome and flexibly adapted to our check-in time change. The facilities were exactly what we needed and made our stay very comfortable. We'll visit again and look forward to it.

Il est un peu compliqué (bien que faisable) de se rendre à la guesthouse sans voiture mais la gentillesse de sa propriétaire et la qualité de la chambre en valent le coup. J'aurais aimé pouvoir y rester plus longtemps.

It was a great stay, a perfect example of what they call 'japanese hospitality'. C'était vraiment sympa de rester chez Yamada. Solo estuve una noche, pero muy agradable, y un servicio único. Un personal molt acollidor, un lloc molt tranquil, recomano parar-s'hi si passeu per allí. めっちゃいい！
