The Raja Ampat Dive Lodge was very nice. They collected us from the ferry in Waisai and brought us on a short, bumpy speedboat ride (30-40 mins - the weather wasn’t so great the day we arrived). We were greeted by Tony the owner and briefed by Joseph. We only wanted to snorkel at the house reef and didn’t end up taking any trips because it was fantastic. The resort is very nice (if a little grubby in the bathroom and damp in places - but this is a tropical island and is moist and rains frequently, but not for long, so it has to he expected that some places won’t dry out very fast). The food was fine, tasty but not extravagant (buffets for breakfast and dinner - we didn’t have lunch). The grounds are well kept and the staff, along with Tony (who remembered everyone’s names) are very friendly. It was a relaxed atmosphere and we felt well taken care of and welcome. We would certainly stay there again and recommend it to others. We saw turtles, black tip reef sharks and so many other species of fish large and small. It was really amazing to snorkel there and we enjoyed our stay immensely.

Emplacement de l’hôtel idéal. Le reef devant l’hôtel est merveilleux avec notamment beaucoup de requins et des tortues. L’hôtel dispose de matériel de Snorkelling gratuit, ainsi que des kayak. Repas variés et équilibrés avec des plats locaux traditionnels. Nous regrettons toutefois que la prestation n’inclut pas le déjeuner et un snack comme pour l’ensemble des resort à Raja Ampat (compter 22$ pour le déjeuner en sus). Chambre avec vue sur la mer, literie confortable et air conditionné, salle de bain avec eau chaude et toilette occidentale. Les bungalow sont globalement en bon état mais vieillissant. Personnel à l écoute et arrangeant, parlant anglais.

The hotel staff is absolutely amazing, extremely solution-oriented, and friendly. If you want to go diving or snorkeling, this is definitely the right location. The sea gives you the feeling of swimming in an aquarium. On the other hand, when it comes to hotel services, all the food we had was very delicious. However, if you book the hotel through Agoda, you only get breakfast and dinner. Therefore, if you want to have lunch, it costs $23 per person per day, and all soft drinks at the hotel are chargeable. All payments are calculated in USD. It’s possible to have a pleasant massage at the hotel, which I highly recommend. There are two aspects of the services provided by the hotel that I was not satisfied with: the transfer between the airport and the hotel is extremely expensive (506 USD for two people, round trip), which includes “local ferry + taxi + speedboat transfer to the hotel,” as well as payments for the people assisting with sea transportation. Unfortunately, there is no other alternative to reach the hotel; at the very least, you need to take the speedboat transfer from the ferry to the hotel. The other issue that needs to be addressed is the minimum 4-person rule for the tours organized by the hotel. If you are only two people, you unfortunately have to pay for four people to join the tour. But overall, the hotel staff is definitely amazing, the atmosphere is very enjoyable, and the sea is breathtakingly beautiful.

I will go back! RADL is a perfect mix of a remote tropical island /jungle with the necessary frills including great dive and snorkel excursions with food, bar and the friendliest staff in SE Asia and the guests are equally kind. It's not a $1k/day live aboard and certainly not a hostel. It the best of both. I had a blast here to complete my Bucket List underwater adventures!
