This homestay at a lovingly restored and updated (with modern amenities) extension is in the Imaju area of Gose, about 15 min drive from the Asuka Historical National Park. We drove so we didn't take up the host's offer to pick us up or their breakfast and dinner offer (for an additional fee). It was an interesting experience staying at one of the traditional local houses after walking by so many during the walk in the Asuka Historical National Park. Hiro and Yuko were the friendliest hosts; very attentive and very deft with their translator app. We arrived late at night and were welcomed with tea and rice biscuits, with the futons all laid out and the rooms warmed. The bath is at the back of the house and apparently heated with wood fire. It was such a privilege to have this local experience. Tip: The public carpark is about 50m? away from the homestay. You can't drive in to the homestay. To avoid being lost like we did, it is probably best to either take up Hiro's offer to pick you up or to inform him of your estimated arrival time so that he can meet you at the carpark and then guide you to the homestay.

目にするもの全てが素晴らしく、タイムスリップした感覚です。貴重な奥座敷に泊めていただき、このような時間を体験できたことに感謝いたします。女将、番頭さんのホスピタリティも素晴らしいです。あまり期待していなかった夕食でしたが、思いがけず美しく、追加注文して良かったです。またぜひ泊まりたいです。ありがとうございました^ ^

お庭も部屋も料理もお風呂も大満足です😆 ご主人と女将さんもとても素敵で、奈良のオススメスポットも教えてくださり、良い旅になりました😊 また行きます！！ 一日一組限定なので、早めに予約をしようと思います🤩✨

Our stay with Hiro and Yuki was one of the highlights of a monthlong trip to Japan. They are the most gracious and generous hosts, alert to our every need and even driving us around to more distant locations in the area, picking us up at the train station. The meals were outstanding. The facility is modest but charming, located in a lovely and quiet little street.. Hiro and Yuki made our twenty-four hours in Asuka a joy.

一日一組限定の秘境宿、ということで伺いましたが、想像以上の素晴らしさでした。 何より、ご亭主のお心遣いが胸に沁みました。 文句なしです。
