Walton Hall Hotel & Spa by Sunday

We stayed on a Sunday night and found the location and grounds to be lovely. The staff at the reception were friendly and welcoming. Initially, we considered dining at the hotel; however, we were deterred by the prices and the quality of the menu we encountered. Instead, we chose to eat out in the village, which was just two miles away, and the meal was excellent. Our room was standard but very nice and comfortable. However, we felt that more could have been done to brighten up and tidy both the interior and exterior of the hotel. After our meal outside the hotel, we had a drink in the bar, but the prices were excessive—£17 for a Baileys and a cider! In the morning, we enjoyed an excellent breakfast, which was a highlight of our stay. We then decided to use the spa, only to find out that there was an additional charge of £10 each. The gym equipment was quite poor and barely functional, with weights that seemed to be from the 1940s. I didn’t spend much time in the gym and headed to the pool, which was quite loud due to the number of children present. In my opinion, it didn't provide the tranquil atmosphere expected from a spa. The pool and its surrounding area appeared old and in need of refreshing, and the floor was slippery, which was concerning. I was genuinely disappointed, especially since we had to pay for the spa access. Despite overlooking many issues due to the beautiful surroundings, I would consider staying there again; however, I wouldn’t use the spa, purchase excessive drinks, or dine at the hotel.

The Kettles were scaly. The Aircon broke down. But the staff did try to make our stay as comfortable. They helped with table fans. Ultimately, if not for these two set backs, it was a wonderful stay.

The hotel itself was in a excellent location. The main highlight of our stay was the receptionist Cher, her customer care was outstanding, she went out of her way to make sure everything about our stay was perfect. 5 stars.

We were having car trouble so needed a place to stay for a tight budget as had not planned the stay. The staff were amazing and upgraded our room so we were in the old manor house. WOW it is stunning Great evening meal and lovely breakfast. The staff made our stay!

Main hotel block has been built in the former walled garden behind the Imposing Hall, the room was a good size on the ground floor with view into the interior car park, if like me you are attending a classic car event, it’s nice to be able to park your classic well within view from your room French windows….Apart from the sink being a little slow to drain, and the hand wash dispenser being empty on the bath wall, together with one of the drinking water glasses provided being previously used and very dirty, the light above the sink was faulty kept on flashing and the noise from next door neighbours, clearly their messaging during the night buzzing wasn’t helpful or conducive for uninterrupted sleep throughout the night…it was ok, mattress a bit firm. The leisure facilities were ok good tang of equipment, restaurant food average, green chicken curry a bit watery and the sticky toffee pudding cake part dry….. bar doesn’t serve bitter odd when it’s located in the countryside……
