AWAUMI Fujikawaguchiko Resort

Very nice experience for the kids BBQ dinner and breakfast was great However they would require some cooking skills and expertise as you have to cook them on your own. The room (glamping dome) was very nice visually but can get really cold at night. Kids couldn't really sleep well during the stay although they all said Awaumi glamping dome was their favourite hotel overall compared against our other stays this trip

We enjoyed our stay at Awaumi. The kids enjoyed the bathtub and location to supermarket is nearby.

Very good facilities in room and public, and would be able to use all during the summer. Part of Mt. Fuji is viewed. Suitable for family vacation, and spend time in the resort.

Stayed here for one night in Dec ‘25 during a trip to Mt Fuji. Some things were good, but some things that are more basic/not frills were lacking. It has going for it, understanding staff who help us set up extra bedding for our kids, an outdoor pool that looks fun to enjoy in summer, a hot tub in the room connected to your toilet, a sauna and separate kitchen area (for the cabin) and some space for lounging. There was free flow wine offered at the reception area until 9pm which was a nice touch. Now the down side. The tub room was huge but took up so much space, and the actual shower was too small. Was a little difficult trying to help our young ones shower. Although the room fits 4, there’s only a very small hanging rack with 4 hangers. There are no hooks in the toilet for basic convenience, and no heating in the toilet. Important to note that when you do enter the number of occupants at booking, you must not include kids. We saw that when booking for 2 adults the room details says 4 single beds, but the hotel only prepared 2 of them and said we needed to pay extra 10,000 Yen for bedding for each kid, which was exorbitant. Finally, do note that anything not mentioned as included requires additional charges, such as using the BBQ. Hotel staff were friendly and cordial. The experience might be better in winter, but I might not choose to stay here again.

We had an okay stay at the resort and would recommend it but I think that there should be more information about what the resort offers / expects. At check in the lady could hardly speak English. We arrived at about 14h30 and by the time we had finished doing the admin it was around 14h45. We asked if we could go into our rooms, we were told that we had to wait until 15h00 ... Then there is no real explanation on how it all works with dinner, etc. At one point the food was delivered to our room but there was no explanation as to what you are supposed to cook / mix together / what sauces go with what. It was a bit of a guessing game! There is a "book"in the unit that tells you how to cook the fish - for the rest we had to figure it out The beds are a bit of a challenge ... our mattresses kept sliding around the bed. One small pillow was provided and we had to use the cushions to try and have something to put our heads on. Also, the mattress was not comfortable at all, my husband could feel the springs. Overall it was a 3 out of 5
