Disclaimer: It has been over 20 years since I stayed at ryokan so my impressions might be a bit off for those who routinely go to them. Overall I'm glad I found this location on Agoda. It was quite inexpensive for the service provided, and I enjoyed my stay. The good: - The room was very big, as advertised, being able to sleep multiple people (I was in a family-sized room... alone lol). There were plenty of pillows, futons, blankets, etc available. - The bathroom was sizeable as well, allowing for multiple folks to do their routines without getting in each other's way too badly. One toilet in the room. However, no shower or bathtub: You're gonna be doing that in the first floor public bath. - The public bath was good, with 7 or 8 seats, a pretty big main bath, and a secondary bath which was labeled "lavender" while I was there. The main bath's temperature is 42-43C, and they provide a chart with the mineral makeup of the water if you're into that kind of thing. The secondary bath I didn't quite understand: The first night I was there, it was as hot as lava, so I passed on it. The second night it was far more reasonable, even cooler than the main bath; possibly in the 35-40C range. I'm not sure what was going on there, but it was quite comfortable for me on the second night. - My room came with breakfast served each morning. It's a very ryokan-style breakfast, and if you need assistance understanding what you're getting, the staff is willing to help. - Speaking of the staff, they are very friendly and helpful if you have questions. However, I think they do kind of assume you know how everything works in an onsen/ryokan, heheh. The bad: - The room I stayed in was "well worn." Not to the point of distraction but I did have a smile for a couple rapidly covered dings in the walls. - Some things that might be taken for granted by regular ryokan customers were a bit rough for me. For example, at no point was I informed that my bath towels were in one of the closets in my room, and since I hadn't opened them due to not needing to hang anything, I went down to the onsen without them expecting them to be distributed there. Woops. - If you don't have a car, you're going to need to depend on a taxi. I don't think there's a regular bus service, and it's too far from the train station to comfortably walk (~45 minutes). - The private baths require reservations at an additional fee.

子供が遊べるところが昭和チックでとても良かったです。 料理もとても美味しく地酒があり好きな方にはとても良いと思います。

We stayed here after seeing Ginzan Onsen at night. Our room had a nice view of the river. The ryokan also gave a homely feel with the obaa-chan making us feel at home. This place also has a private onsen where you can reserve a time slot. We had a traditional set meal for breakfast. There is also a relaxing lounge area with a great selection of free drinks & snacks. There is also an izakaya about a 10min walk away that were run by two obaa-chan that were very friendly. Great place, highly recommended!

お料理が美味しかった。ただ、お風呂の貴重品を入れるロッカーの鍵が少し古くバンドが掛からなかったのが残念でした。

Must book dinner at hotel as there's no other place around with restaurants. Is a quiet town. I was amazed by numbers of dishes served for the set dinner meal. And it is very reasonable rate. For the number of dishes served, it could easily cost 3-4 times at restaurant
