Good choice if taking Kurobe Gorge Railway in the morning. Parking is available and hotel allowed to leave car there even after we checked out early. The only thing is there is no shower in the room so we were forced to go to the onsen floor, which also has no private cubicle showers. Not suitable for individuals who are not comfortable to shower publicly. Hotel feels a bit dated and quiet. No staff at the reception when we passed by a few times nor at checkout. Twin room cramped if have 2 bags, so we just took stuff from the car.

Short trip to Kurobe/Unazakionsen
Came here primarily for Kurobe gorge but decided to stay overnight here because of the travel time back to Osaka. Initially I thought that there are at least things to do for 6-8hours but after finishing Kurobe (2.30hours return trip) there wasnt anything much to explore. Also it was raining continuously for the whole day making exploration burdensome. But managed to kill my time from 3pm until 10 in the hotel by spending some time in the bath.

Walking distance to Kurobe railway station. Great Japanese style breakfast. Onsen wonderful
