Amara Beach Resort Koh Phangan

This is a difficult one to review. The rooms were clean and spacious. The bed was really comfortable. The beach was nice. 7/ 11 right next door. Good hot water. The restaurant was not so good. We went for dinner one night and after 2 hours of waiting we cancelled our meal. At breakfast we had to keep asking staff for basic things, plates, cups, cutlery. I am always happy to get up and get my own but it was not available. It was never busy when we were there. The staff were always lovely, they just need better training in customer service and organisation. Even the beach lounges and bean bags were being set up quite late at 9 30. People were waiting for them to be put out. The hotel next door had all theirs set up by 7am. Yes it was a comfortable hotel in a nice spot but they need to sort out their restaurant and bar.

I paid around 1,200-1400 thb/night; it was worth it for this price. The rooms were nice , ac worked great , hot water came quick , and the beds were More comfy than many beds I've enjoyed in Thailand. Note that the pool is for everyone but located immediately outside two rooms so it appears to be exclusive. It's not, but it's also not that big. The location is wonderful. The restaurant has good food and opens directly onto the clean, sandy beach. The included breakfast options were yummy. There were about five options plus a few a la carte items. Cappuccino's were also yummy. There was some noise from road but it was definitely not overwhelming.

Great location, very basic accommodation but good for the price. Huge room, great water pressure. The sheets were a bit old and cleaning wasn’t the best in the from but not bad. Clemson staff seem very demotivated and not wanting to be there. Breakfast was excellent really good value and great service. The guy ok reception was awesome! Really made me very welcome. Would definitely stay again for budget stay.
