Nestled in a very quiet village of Tenkawa up in the mountains, this little Ryokan Inn is a gem. Run by an older couple and a helper, the Japanese hospitality was top notch. The highlight was the kaiseki cuisine featuring very seasonal fish and mountain vegetables. This may not be to everyone's liking, but personally brought me back nostalgically to my childhood. Upon leaving at the break of dawn to catch the early bus, the owner came out with me to stop the bus in front of the inn so that I didn't have to walk to the bus stop and made me take two handmade rice ball for the trip home. Personalized hospitality.

駐車場は少なく、かつ狭い場所で少し戸惑いました。 しかし、部屋も広く清潔で、なんと言っても女将さんが話しやすいとてもいい方です。 夕食、朝食の食事は地元の食材をたっぷり使用したボリューム満点でヘルシーな メニューです。 みたらい渓谷へのアドバイスもいただき大いに参考になりました。 チェックインの際におにぎりをいただき美味しくいただきました。

1日目…週末の大混雑で宿から洞川温泉まで渋滞1時間以上→洞川温泉駐車場待ちで30分以上…この時点では宿のチョイスをミスったかもと正直思いました。 一方、宿までの帰りは渋滞もなくスムーズで、晩御飯や入浴などスタッフの心遣いに渋滞疲れもすぐに癒されました。 2日目…早朝からみたらい渓谷を散策し、想像以上の絶景に大満足で帰宿。こちらをメインに考えるならば、宿の立地は便利かもしれない。渓谷散策が良い運動となり、朝ごはんはおひつにたっぷり入った新米を完食してしまいました。

We arrived cold and wet and were welcomed with homemade fruit juice and biscuits. The bath was large enough to soak comfortably after showering. The meals were delicious. The gift of rice balls (with white bait/ginger) when we departed warmed our hearts and tummies at Yoshinoyama. We would stay here again.

建物自体は新しくはないですが、リフォームされているのか、館内は結構きれいで掃除もされており、清潔感があります。 宿の裏は川が流れており、すぐそばにはつり橋がかかっていてとてもきれいな川でした。 料理も地元でとれる山菜や川魚がメインの手作り料理でとても美味しかったです。 特にあまごの刺身がとってもおいしくても、私も初めて食べたのですが、臭みもなく、美味でした。 旅館を出発する際には、おかみさんから昼食用のおにぎりを頂き、こちらもとっても美味しかったです。 今回は自分の両親と宿泊したのですが、ぜひ家内と娘を連れてまた宿泊したいです。
