“The good: Easy to get to, as its right off the highway. The desk staff is okay. Not incredibly friendly, but not unfriendly. The breakfast was sparse, but they offered cheese and delicious yogurts in the fridge which was nice. The breakfast attendant seemed really friendly and helpful with the guests. And the housekeeper I talked to was friendly as well. The seating area has a great view. The mattress was incredibly soft. Some people might hate that but for me it was heavenly, I love overly-soft mattresses. That's about it on the good. The bad: Everything else. The hotel has a disgusting smell. I am not sensitive smells in the slightest. But as soon as I walked in... I felt gross. This place is run down. It was like one bad discovery after another. The peephole on my door was taped over for some reason. Only 1 of the lamps worked in the entire room. The room smelled weird. Like dirty feet on carpet. Even the bathroom, though very clean, had that smell. That place desperately needs its carpets cleaned. I can still smell it on my clothes after I got home. The building is old. I'm assuming. Or just poorly made. I could hear the person in the room next to me snoring. There is NO ELEVATOR. Not a big deal if you aren't traveling with much. It IS a big deal if you are traveling with a giant, heavy tote full of sheets of glass that you have to haul up the stairs. Even as I got to the top of the steps, I could hear the dryer in the laundry room making an awful, loud squeaking sound as it was running. I could not imagine being in a room next to it. There was a school group of young girls who were opening and slamming the doors LATE AT NIGHT. Nothing was done about that. Normally I can sleep through pretty much anything, but not this time. Only half the hotel is really worth it. I'm sure the view of the lake is nice. The other half is a parking lot, and since the rooms are HOT (my room was 74 and there was only a fan) the only way to cool it down is to open a window,”
