“Pros: Very clean rustic accommodations in the cavalry post. The old west theme of the original is very nice. The grounds were immaculate. Most of the staff are really helpful and friendly. The exception was one young lady in the bakery. The location is excellent. Perfect for exploring the state park. Sky you're beautiful and we were able to see several meteors during the perseids meteor shower. Cons: after staying up half the night touch the meteors, we were unpleasantly woken up at 8:00 with the grounds crew cutting down the tall grasses in the courtyard of the cavalry post. Then the grounds crew left the big pile cut grass at the face of the steps so we have to walk into them when we left and came back. They were there quite a while. It really big con of this trip was a storm hit on our last day and wiped out the power. We were told the power would not be on until 7:30. 7:30 came and went and was not all. Our room is starting to get and I was concerned because I use a medical device that requires electricity. So we had no choice but to leave early to go find accommodations elsewhere. I realize the power outages was not their fault but we still had to leave. I will be I will get a refund from them for the night we didn't spend. ”
