“Holiday Inn Express & Suites - Sherwood This is a fairly new building. Opened few years ago. The owner takes such a genuine approach to hospitality that they renovated a year after grand opening. That’s extremely rare! When you walk in, you are greeted right away by supper friendly staff. Your check in desk will be to the left of the entrance. To the right, you have large selection of lounging seating. Once I was able to check-in, I went up to my room. ROOM: My room was new, comfortable and without blemishes. The bed was very comfortable. All furniture was brand new, nothing was worn out. Carpet was nice to walk around on and was clean. Another unexpected complimentary touch was Keurig Coffee Maker with six coffee pods of your choosing. BATHROOM: It was brightly lit with modern lighting. My favorite was vanity mirror with all around LED lights. Sink was big and offered lots of space around to spread out your toiletries. The double glass door shower was spacious with good shower head pressure. Although, I was traveling for work solo, they had plenty of extra towels. BREAKFAST: It was good overall. They offered fresh fruit, yogurt, pastries, and hot breakfast items like bacon, scrambled eggs, potatoes and egg omelette. The scrambled eggs I didn’t really enjoy. It did not look appetizing and looked too processed. If you’re in a rush, they do have small bags for you to put some breakfast items to go. Very thoughtful touch. Fresh coffee is available in the morning, as well as, throughout your stay. STAFF: Everyone that I came in contact and interacted with were so kind, beyond what you’d expect. When I was leaving the next morning, one of the ladies was sweeping the floor by front entrance. When I approached behind her and said, “Excuse me,” to pass by. She was so polite that she replied, “My apology.” I responded, “No it’s ok, my apologies for disturbing you.” SURROUNDINGS: It was in a good location. However, for better food options that are non fast-food stores, you will need to drive 10-15 minutes minimum. Parking lot was good size. They have parking spaces at the front of the building and additional parking at the rear of the building. OVERALL: I would have to say my stay was very relaxing and enjoyable. It was quiet throughout the night, no loud noises or other guests disturbing others. The staff, atmosphere and how clean they keep this place, I will certainly be returning here. When traveling and staying at hotels, I’ve experienced genuine hospitality and I’ve experienced disregard for customer hospitality. This place nailed it and over exceeded my expectations.”
