“The DoubleTree overlooks a marina and has beautiful views. I've never encountered a friendlier staff at any hotel. The rooms are very nice, comfortable and clean. I found it difficult to sleep due to music playing all night- could not determine if it was from within the hotel or outside- and that may have been a one-off situation. However, the AC is robust and loud when it comes on, so if you're a light sleeper, you might want to consider that. Overall, though, the hotel is very nice and I would consider staying there again.”

“This is the second, and last time we will stay here. It's a shame really. This is one of three big hotels in the lovely waterfront new Bern area. But it definitely needs to be refreshed. Both times now the beds have been awful. one of each bed, the night stand side, is just worn. So my wife and I end up sleeping on the better but still mediocre side of two separate beds. Plus everything's is just worn. The sofa for example looks pretty good and worn. And the sockets are sketchy. They barely hold a plug. And some don't work for lack of contact. The location is great. The restaurant is ok. And the staff are nice. But we need decent beds!!”
