“Pros: Good location within close proximity of the airport, nice beach access, good selection of onsite restaurants, and ample storage within the room. Cons: Hefty resort fee, front desk staff were somewhat rude, the pool vibe was young and more of a party scene, making it seem a little tacky. Rooms are outdated with drawers and doors hard to close. The wear and tear is VERY obvious. Spa is small and expensive for what it offers.”

“We traveled as a couple with our 15 month old. We stayed on the 15th floor after originally being booked in a room on the 7th. To be frank, the quality of the first room was not acceptable, but it was quickly rectified when I made the front desk aware. After our room was changed, the rest of the trip was great! We loved the breakfast buffet with the omelet station and their orange juice was soo so fresh. The pool area was so relaxing and well attended. You could easily order food and whether you were like us with a toddler or a solo traveler there was an area of the pool to hangout. The restaurants were solid and our fav was Ocean Breeze (the beach restaurant) - we ate 3 meals here and it was always yummy, pretty quick and the views of the beach and waves was a beautiful setting. Location also worked for us. Only 10-15 mins to Old San Juan depending on where you were going. The uber rides ranged from $12-20 depending on the time of day - not bad. We will definitely recommend the Royal Sonesta to friends and family who are looking for a great place to stay in PR!”

“We decided to take a trip last minute and found a great deal for this hotel. Overall our experience was good. I only wish it was closer to more restaurants and nightlife. The hotel food is good we just like to explore food choices outside of the hotel. ”

“Hotel served it’s purpose its old but decorated nicely, nice location, great staff, beach is across the street. Does have that wet smell in the room. Pool is shallow 3-4 feet deep, good for children. Bar and pizza spot conveniently located. At checkout they don’t mention service charge however you will receive an email after booking for $29/day service charge. ”

“Due to flight timing, needed one night in San Juan. Aire de Olive was just right, close to the airport, and one of the better values available. My only criticism is how long it took to get breakfast, be prepared! However, compliments all around to the staff who were super helpful and concerned.”
