“What we really like about this hotel is that it is within walking distance of almost everything, pharmacies, fast-food restaurants, convenience stores, the market, and most importantly, it is right in front of the bus terminal. As soon as you arrive, or when it’s time to depart, you only need to walk a few steps and you’re already there. It’s very convenient, esp. for us since we have a toddler and brought quite a lot of luggage. We didn’t experience much difficulty going in and out of the hotel. We booked a 3-night stay, and we can definitely say that it was worth the money. Gingoog City is my husband’s hometown, and his family lives in Lapak, but we decided to book here because it’s close to the bus terminal. We knew it would make things much easier for us, esp. with our baby and everything we had to carry. One thing that also surprised us was the hotel itself. From the outside, the place has a very vintage, old-fashioned look, so we honestly weren’t sure what to expect at first. But once we got inside, we were pleasantly surprised by how clean and well-maintained everything was. The atmosphere actually has its own charm. It kind of feels like staying at your grandma’s house, the familiar, cozy, old-school kind of home, but with a few modern touches and little improvements here and there to make the stay more comfortable. Instead of feeling outdated, it gives the place a warm and homey character. It may not have the super-modern or luxurious aesthetic of newer hotels, but there’s something comforting about it. Most importantly, everything felt clean, which matters so much to us, esp. since we were traveling with our little one. We also had a few concerns during our stay, and their staff immediately approached us the other day and offered us something in return. Although we politely declined the offer, we really appreciated that they took the time to address our concerns and make an effort to accommodate us. For us, the fact that they acknowledged our concerns and tried to make things right already meant a lot. Of course, we also had a couple of minor issues, but they didn’t really affect our overall stay. #1 — Internet connection I’m a VA who works at night, so staying somewhere with a reliable internet connection is a must for me. The internet was generally okay, but there were times when the connection would get interrupted. Good thing I brought a pocket Wi-Fi with me just in case. If you’re staying here mainly for vacation or just browsing online, it probably won’t be a big deal, but for someone like me who needs a stable connection for work, having a backup internet connection definitely helps. #2 — Assistance with luggage Maybe because it’s only a 2-storey hotel, we understand that the staff can get busy. However, we just wish there was a little more initiative in offering assistance with guests’ luggage instead of waiting for us to ask or for the reception to call someone. Since we had to carry our toddler, two luggages, and several hand-carry bags, having someone offer to help would have been really nice. We completely understand that this may not necessarily be part of the service we paid for, and we don’t really consider it a major issue. It’s just one of those small gestures that could make the experience even better, esp. for families traveling with young children. Hehe! So yeah, we have to carry everything upstairs using stairs, thank God it's just a 2-storey hotel. 😅 But overall, we really enjoyed our stay and definitely don’t regret booking here. The few minor issues we encountered were outweighed by the convenience of the location, the cleanliness of the place, the cozy and nostalgic atmosphere, and the way the staff responded to our main concerns. For a family like ours who needed somewhere convenient, comfortable, and close to the bus terminal, it worked really well. We’d definitely consider staying here again whenever we visit Gingoog City in the future. Thank you! ❤️”
