“I stayed here in 2021. For me, it was one of my best stays in the Mindoro area and in the Philippines in general. The high-tech bed and glasses were very on-point. Friendly staff, and place is accessible.”

“Pros: The place is spacious and ideal for groups. Cons: The entire unit had an unpleasant smell, as if it hadn’t been occupied for some time. It would’ve helped if air fresheners were provided. The bedsheets and pillows didn’t feel very clean, the Wi-Fi was slow, and the bed was quite firm. Basic toiletries were not prepared in advance. The kitchen area had visible molds, the extension cords are not in great conditions, and some kitchen essentials like sponges and were in poor condition too. Overall: The place has great potential, but it really needs proper maintenance and repairs. I hope the owner takes time to improve the upkeep and design so guests feel they’re getting value for what they pay.”

“Completely Furnished House Friendly staff Great Location Spacious”

“The location of the house is great since it’s accessible to malls. Although the house needs a bit of maintaining. The bathroom smells a bit. Aside from that, everything is okay inside the house. What we were just disappointed with is the parking situation. You can see that neighborhood park their cars just outside the house but we can’t park our car outside the rented house and we were called for multiple times just because we parked for a couple of minutes. The parking area is very far from the house and it’s so hot outside that you have to walk back and forth everytime you will have to use your car. I hope this is also included to the information upfront so disappointment like this is prevented and proper expectation is set. Thanks!”

“Casa Estela is one of the newer establishments in Calapan City. They have a cafe restaurants downstairs which is popular amongst local politicians and business people. The cafe serves a relatively great mix of Filipino and western dishes. Cafe Estela is located within a residential area and is tucked away, so it is relatively quiet. It is very close to CitiMall where you can access various shops and boutiques. There is limited parking in their garden area, and can only accomodate approx. 5 vehicles. The parking area can get quite busy during lunch and dinner hours. I had to park my vehicle on the side street once when I had to check in. The reception desk is not manned well, and I had to call out staff a couple of times to check in. They were very friendly and accomodating though and offer you a local welcome drink (I had the sago gulaman). The property itself has no lifts so its not accessible for disabled guests and senior guests may struggle, but there are helpers available to help carry your bags to your room. They typically take your breakfast order the day before and also offer a good mix of Filipino and continental breakfast. The room is very clean and the internet was surprisingly superfast. I had approx. 100MB connection which is quite impressive for Calapan. There was a power outage once during my stay but the hotel had a generator and the power went back up after a few seconds. This was important as the room can quickly get scorching hot without the A/C on. The bed and duvet were supercomfy and I slept really well. I had to wait for staff again during checkout, but they were accomodating as I had to checkout at 6am. They offered to pack my breakfast instead which was a nice touch. Overall this is a great place to stay in Calapan and dare I say the most comfortable. It can easily rival The Filipiniana although Cafe Estela are significantly smaller.”
