“We visited Green Park Resort & Spa in Madikeri to celebrate my wife’s birthday. The location is lovely and surrounded by greenery, with a balcony that looks out over misty mountains — very peaceful. The staff were cordial and eager to help, and the room was spacious with a small living area, a queen bed, two TVs, and a nice view. Highlights - Scenic location and peaceful mountain views. - Friendly, attentive staff (special thanks to Deepa in the restaurant and the pastry chef for arranging the birthday cake). - Clean room with comfortable furnishings and a small living area. Issues and disappointments - Pricey: The room cost ₹17,500 plus taxes, and food prices at the restaurant felt inflated (a can of 7Up was charged ₹225 excl. tax). - Breakfast quality: For a property that markets itself as five-star, the complimentary breakfast was very underwhelming and disappointing — only 3–4 hot items (idly, vada, poori, aloo parotta) and minimal desserts (two flavored yoghurts, an oats dish). I’ve seen better spreads at many three-star hotels than what was available. - Service gap: Although staff were pleasant, a customised order was forgotten by the chef despite being confirmed twice; we waited over 20 minutes and was later asked repeat the order as they didn’t remember what was ordered. Ended up skipping the order all together. - Facilities and reliability: The resort has a pool, a decent-looking restaurant, and a gym over looking nature but lacks broader amenities. Power outages were frequent (especially at night), which was worrying while travelling with a baby. The key-card power system malfunctioned a couple times, leaving the room dark with one time, ended us siting outside the room in rain with baby until reception could help. Verdict Green Park Resort & Spa offers a great location, pleasant staff, and comfortable rooms — ideal for short, scenic stays. However, several service and operational shortcomings, combined with high pricing and limited amenities, make it hard to recommend as good value for money. If decent location and staff warmth are your top priorities, it’s worth considering; if you expect top-tier facilities, extensive dining options, and flawless operational reliability for the price, you may find better alternatives nearby.”

Special shout out to Anurag for ensuring my chocolate allergy was not an hinderance in my meals. Minihrhii for the lovely chat about his love for sports. Krishnendu for ensuring I could enjoy the pool side with the sun not coming in the way. Nikita, Kundan, Sachin and especially Sisira from front desk for all the help. Last but not the least Naturalist Ganesh for the amazing stories about wildlife - especially the hornbill commitment tale which touched all our hearts during the story-telling sessions. I am glad I picked this property for my solo travel. Looking forward to visiting again with my family this time!”
