“First off, the staff were super kind and pleasant. From check in to the cleaners - everyone very nice to meet. But, even with excellent cleaning the rooms cannot really get clean enough to justify the price. I paid $160 American on a discount site and my opinion is that the correct price for this property would be more like $40. The rooms smell of cigarettes and fish sort of, even the bed. I know it is not the cleaners fault as I could tell and saw that they cleaned deeply and thoroughly but some things are too dingy to be able to clean. The hotel needs a deep remodel and refinishing to justify the prices. I alerted staff to cigarette smell in first room and they very nicely gave me another which was less bad but that bed was worse. It was a difficult situation that made me wish I had not stayed in Ashdod at all, sadly. The staff and cleaners were great, good people, doing their jobs well, but they are limited by issues with the quality of the property. In my opinion. ”
