“The place itself is nice. Over priced for what you get, but as that’s common in Sumba, so not really big deal. But while the owner back to EU, the staff just can’t run it properly. The room was not cleaned upon our arrival, we had to wait them clean, 45mins went by, when they finished, we found meshes near the bed. The deluxe room is in good size but urgently need some renovation, especially in the bathroom. Wifi not always working, and the staff changed wifi name without informing us. Worst part was the rental bike, we had to chose between a bike without front breaker or a scooter with overused tires (because the staff don’t care at all when the owner is away, and when you pointed out, they just don’t get it or pretend don’t understand) , so the result was the tire went away while we driving. NOT SAFE! We had to spend 2hrs to fix it while renting it.. when we return, the staff was pissed off, no “thank you”, no “sorry”, as maybe we told the owner what happened?! However, the owner replied us, and paid for the fixing. The good we can think about was the chef, he was great, always took good care of us. Rua beach is nice too, great for a walk. ”

“Before we came to Lelewatu Resort, we read a lot of bad comments, so we were concerned what to expect. One thing for sure: the management completely left behind the hotel (according to the Indonesian media, there is some legal case ongoing, so the appointed GM is in Bali). The place is like several 5* hotels were in Bali during the covid, when some cost efficiency measurements were taken: a few things are missing from the full ‘luxurious experience’, but the villa we stayed at was still stunning, the interior was beautiful and it was clean in general. The staff was extremely kind, though they speak basic English, so it can help if you speak a little Indonesian (or just use google translate). Breakfast was good and portions were quite big, we had the American and the healthy breakfast bowl. We had dinner there too, which was okay, but I highly recommend to ask what is fresh that day (fish or maybe some Indonesian dishes), because we had concerns about the rib eye steak (the tenderloin was okay though). On another note, the standbying manager handled the situation very well. The organized trip was amazing: the price was reasonable, the driver was super attentive (he was not a guide, but accompanied us during the trip and he knew the best spots to take photos at), also the hotel included umbrellas, towels and even some snacks. The places we visited were very beautiful, if you visit Sumba, I highly recommend to try these trips. In general I think it worth to visit for a few nights, and if you have any concerns regarding the food or the room’s cleaniness, just tell them. I live in Indonesia for 8 years and I can guarantee you, you will never find a better deal for such a nice private pool villa in Indonesia.”

“Stayed just one night at Rua Beach Resort, situated on a very nice beach. Rua Beach itself is the attraction and is the main reason to visit, a pristine 4km wide sandy bay located between two headlands. The Resort has decent standard bungalows located behind the dining pavilion. The pavilion is a nice place to enjoy dinner or just lounge around afterwards. The staff is attentive and nice. Food was good.”

Ils nous disent ok pour louer un scooter et le matin rien. Bloqué sur place. Pas de taxi. Pas de service. Seul possibilité un restaurant très cher ou on nous fait rentrer par une porte de service qd ils veulent l'ouvrir. Système de réservation moderne marche très mal. Le personnel ne répond a aucune demande. Triste. On est parti après 2 nuit pour fuir ce piège ”

“경치가 진짜 미쳤어요. 파도 소리도 너무 좋고 영화속에 들어와있는것 같았습니다. 하지만 전자기기가 아무것도 없습니다. 필요한것은 챙겨가세요. 물도 첫날만 보틀에 주고 모든것은 사먹어야합니다. 저녁엔 따뜻한물이 잘 나오지 않고 가끔 단수가 됩니다. 청소를 요청했지만 커뮤니케이션이 잘 안된건지 해주지 않았어요 ;( 하지만 너무 아름다운 바다, 밤하늘, 노을, 귀여운 강아지들, 직원들의 친절한 미소, 이런것들이 보상으로 다가옵니다. 옆 숙소와 레스토랑이 붙어있어서 헷갈릴 수 있어요. 저희처럼 실수로 옆숙소로 가게 될 수 있습니다ㅎㅎ. 이 숙소 음식이 우리한테는 더 맛있었어요. 숙소에서 소개받은 드라이버 Wawan과 Petra도 매우 추천합니다. 행복한 여행을 만들어줘서 고맙습니다. 기회가 되면 또 오고 싶어요”

“Sumba beach house was a real treat. the location is superb, the facilities impecable, and Jenny at the bar makes the best cocktails. Comparatively to other indonesian destinations Sumba is quite pricey, but I would return there in a flash. There aren't many places to eat around, so a more expanded menu (my partner is vegan) would be welcomed. also many of the dishes weren't available on the menu (everything with fish - which I love). After 4 days there (breakfast, lunch and diner) the menu really felt limited. ”

Des hommes viennent et repartent dans les chambres de ces femmes jusqu'à 3 heures du matin!!! 5. Du bruit toute la nuit, des équipements vétustes. Établissement non recommandé..”
