“From the moment we arrived, we knew we had found somewhere special. Our stay was everything we could have hoped for, comfortable, beautifully presented and made memorable by Francisco’s genuine hospitality. We would highly recommend this property to anyone visiting the Bordeaux wine region. The location was ideal for exploring the area, with Saint-Émilion and its many wineries and châteaux just a short distance away. It was a wonderful base for discovering the surrounding vineyards and villages. Francisco was a fantastic host — warm, attentive and thoughtful, while also giving us plenty of privacy. He made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. Even though we were travelling in France, communication was incredibly easy, with excellent English spoken throughout our stay, which made us feel very comfortable. Breakfast was one of the highlights. Francisco baked fresh croissants every morning and put together a generous spread of local produce, including delicious tomatoes and other items from his father-in-law’s garden, as well as cheeses, yoghurts, fresh fruit, juices and everything else you could want to start the day. There was also a proper coffee machine with alternative milks on offer, which was very much appreciated. We particularly loved sitting outside each morning with our coffee and breakfast, looking out across the rolling vineyard-covered hills while planning our days. It was a peaceful and memorable setting that really added to the experience. The home and rooms had recently been renovated and were beautifully finished. The decor was tasteful and stylish without losing the warmth and character of the property, and everything was clean, comfortable and thoughtfully presented. We also really enjoyed the connection to Château Mondorion in Saint-Émilion, which is owned by Francisco’s father-in-law. Francisco arranged a private tour of the winery for us, which was a highlight of our trip. His father-in-law was such a pleasure to meet and speak with, and his genuine passion for the land, his vineyards and what he does was immediately apparent. It made the visit feel personal and gave us a wonderful insight into the region and the people behind its wine. We enjoyed it so much that we purchased a bottle of his small-batch limited-edition wine to take home with us. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily return. If you’re looking for somewhere comfortable and beautifully presented while exploring Saint-Émilion, the wineries and châteaux of the Bordeaux wine region, we would highly recommend it.”
